Thanks to this forum, I recently learned how to cut clips out of DVD vob files. However, I have some clips with subtitles and these are not being included in the edited clips. Is there a way to do this with DVD Shrink (3.2)?

They should be included if selected.
Also, make sure the 'Hide...' box is unchecked.

Thanks, but my settings are as you show, but still no subtitles being transferred to the newly cut clip. Are there any other things I should check in my settings or in the process I'm following?

After you save the clip to a folder - and you open that folder with DVD Shrink - are the subtitles listed?
The only way I know to verify that subtitles actually exist, is to open the file using DVDSubEdit (open full domain) and select the subpic stream then step through them.

By way of example, a clip from The Beatles Anthology with English subtitles was cut from the main DVD. When I open this in DVD Shrink it has boxes for Subpictures (English) checked/ticked. Is that the subtitles part and should they be showing up (they're not), then, if ticked?

Ah,I see...
But in that case, any further thoughts on what or where the problem could be?

Open the clip with DVDSubEdit and verify that there is/is not actual subtitles.
If there are no subs in the clip, then there is either a problem with the source or DVD shrink.
Open the source in DVDSubEdit and verify the subs are there.

Ok, I've just downloaded DVDSubEdit and opened the clip. Subtitles are showing fine there.
So...what next?
Can I get them to show up on the clip I've already made? I mean, are they there somewhere but just not showing, so how to get them up there?
Or do I have to re-do, but then still how to get the subs included? Do I need to use DVDSubEdit along the way? It's a new programme for me, so I don't know my way around it yet.

Some Original Clips have Subtiles (English, Russian, Spanish, Chinese, etc.) and some not at all.
Using DVDShrink and if they are any subtiles on your Original DVD; they are show on the right section after you "Open Disc", under "Subpicture".
They should be already check (ticked) if you want to have them on your final back up disc, and if you no want them, you can un-check them (un-ticked).
Some times they are Subtiles there, but if the Original Clip is bigger that 4,464MB, some times the Subtiles get automatic lost in orden to fit the new edit video on the back up disc.
If you want the subtiles to show-up on your Back-up disc, you have the option to "Re-autor" selecting Main Movie only by dobble clicking "Title # X". and you can recheck under "Compression Settings" and see if the "Subpicture" boxes are Ticked still, meanning your final back-up click will be the Movie Only with subtiles. Now is escept to you to see them or not: using your DVD Player remote control clicking the "Subtitle botton"!
P.S. on some new DVD's (and Back up disc too) you not need to read subtiles any more; you can hear the clip on your own lenguage buy clicking the "Audio Botton" on your DVD Player remote control !!!

Many thanks, attar & Mrguss...
In DVDShrink, subtitles are all checked.
Just now, I opened the clips/Vob files with Nero and when I use options and click 'display subtitles' there they are. But if I close the clip and re-play, no subs again. And, as I said, when I play the DVD compilation I made with this and other clips, no subs show. If I press the subs button on the remote I get the 'not allowed/available' symbol on screen.
I'm still baffled. If they ARE there, and they seem to be, why not showing or available on the finished DVD?

DVD vob files contains MPEG-2 video, audio and subtitles streams.
In orden to view stand-alone VOB files, you need to have DVD player software that supports VOB playback like "Media Player Classic".
When you want to burn a VOB files into a standard DVDR disc you need to have all the others standard DVD files as well, including IFO and BUP files and burn them with DVD Decrypter.
Go to Guides to learn how to use DVD Decrypter !!!
Good luck nulanula.
