Like a dumb ass I upgraded to Nero 9, instead of the Nero 7 package that came with my Light Scribe burners. Big mistake on my part.
DVD Shrink won?t use Nero 9 to burn, so I removed 9 from my system. Now it takes many (24-30) hours to analyze a DVD! It used to take minutes, now it takes hours. I tried to reload the OEM?s version of Nero 7 and not it will not load, telling me that it is missing a cabinet file BFBB123E.cab. I kind of think the two issues are related.
I had to contact NERO support just to get 9 to load, as it seem that if there is anything on your system that even looks like Nero, then 9 will not load. I ran their cleaning tool 4 times before the damn thing would load. Now the OEM version of 7 won?t load, even after running the cleaning tool numerous times. Oh, by the way, did I mention that I had to pay for the tech support to get the damn thing loaded? The tech support person even told me to run %temp% and manually delete any files that have Nero in them! Way to go Nero development team. What a piece of crap!
Does anyone have a suggestion on what to do to get DVD Shrink to run faster?
The only way I see it is to back up all your files and then re-format the whole hard drive, it's one sure way to clear up all the mess and junks from your directory.
