I upgraded to Nero 8 and can not get the pairing of Nero8>DVDShrink 3.2 to work. I think Nero picks the wrong compilation type because it makes a dvd that plays on PC,s only...which is the first choice in the Nero compilation screen.
I can have DVDShrink just create an image and then manually go to Nero Burning rom and pick DVD-Video and it works fine. I have two burners so it is handy to drop a movie in one and a blank in the other and walk away and make my backup, which I was able to do till now. Any suggestions??
Creaky is right. Check the Sticky. Later versions of Nero were written so Shrink can no longer use the burning software properly as a supported burner. Whether intentional or not, that's what Nero did and they say they're not responsible for supporting Shrink. It could have something to do with Nero having Recode which is an updated clone of Shrink. Options are using ImgBurn, or the older DVD Decrypter with Shrink or use the Recode in Nero. CopyToDVD from VSO is also a supported burner in DVD Shrink. CopyToDVD has to be on the PC before it will appear in the DVD Shrink burn options. For ImgBurn there's changes needed for Shrink. The Sticky that Creaky mentioned has the thread on ImgBurn and Shrink. There's no fix for later versions of Nero with Shrink, so save yourself the time searching (dvds play on PC, but not on standalone). It's either an older version or no version for Nero with Shrink.
(Edited because my internal word processor was out of order. ;) )
I have been waiting for over a year for this problem to be fixed by someone and from time to time I go into some of the better forums and check...i am persistent....guess its time to move on so i downloaded and installed imgburn and got things to work but every second dvd gets a "optimal L1 data zone start LBA" error.
Some of the forums suggest using repair kits to fiddle with the layer break, but i have burnt three of these, ignoring the error, and they appear to work fine.
Is there any way that i can stick a dvd in one burner and a dual layer blank in the other burner and just hit "backup" on DVDshrink and come down 20 minutes later to find the burn completed instead of an error message at the start??....or are those days gone?
