Following backup of main title the output file is C:\dvd_title.zip. When burnt to a DVD this results in a DVD that will not load. This is a new problem from a programme that once worked.

I just looked at every preference for dvdshrink. There is no choice for a zipped output.

I have no idea what you did to accomplish this feat.

wrong settings in winrar.. simple as.. it's reading an iso as a rar file of some kind...and I bet then the OP is burning that iso to a disk as a data disk instead of as an image.

Thank you Rulisky. I am sure I did nothing intentional to acomplish this feat. Having spent hours searching for similar experiences in cyberspace I conclude is is a rare phenomenon. I suppose if all else fails I can remove the program and download a fresh one.

A fresh install is probably a good idea. Also, you might want to run ccleaner before reinstalling shrink. This would (hopefully) remove any leftover traces in your registry that might corrupt that fresh install. Good luck!

I do not have WinRar as a program installed on my machine. After a search for WinRar all I could find were 3 licences in text format in which WinRar is mentioned.

Thank you Rulisky.
I removed, downloaded and reinstalled dvdshrink. Did a cclean too.
Ran the program and although dvdshrink's final window says that the the file
"C:\film_title.ISO" has been created, what is actually on the drive using the explorer window is:
film_title with the subtitle jzip archive

If I open a dos command window the file appears as film_title and no zip extension
I burnt the output file and of course it would not load in the player. Another disk into the trash basket. Beats me.

Doubtful. Most people simply don't look which boxes are checked when Winrar is installed asking about file associations.
