Hi all im new to this site so please forgive me if.
I use to make copys of my dvd a few years back and now just getting back into it because my son is breaking all of our dvd's.

well i use to use Dvd Shrink and Dvd descriptor but it seem like the new movie arent working with these programs no more. I've made sure they were both the most recent updates. Is there something that i dont know about when working with these programs? or is there a new program out there that you guys would recommend?

DVD Shrink alone won't be able to rip and or decrypt new release protections, so you'll need DVDFab HD Decrypter (that's what I'm using). To make it more simple for you, get the following programs.

* DVDFab HD Decrypter (free) -> http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm (to rip and decrypt movie files to hard drive.
* DVD Shrink (free) to transcode
* ImgBurn (free) http://www.imgburn.com/ -> to burn your image file or VIDEO_TS files

Thanks you for your help. I just DL DVDFAb and i already had DVD shrink and IMG Burner.

So DVDFab says its only a 30 day trail is this true or is there a free version out there?

So is this the order i would do it in
1) insert DVD
2) click on DVDFab
3) Open the file in DVD shrink
4) burn it in IMBurn
and what does "transcode" mean
???????

"transcode" means to compress or shrink the movie to fit any regular DVD-R or DVD+R disc.
DVDFab HD Decrypter is FREE... totally FREE, unless you're using the "Platinum" version then that's a 30 days period. To make a long story short, simply do the following.

(1) rip the movie (DVD) with DVDFab HD Decrypter to hard drive.
(2) start DVD Shrink, "Open Files" look for already ripped files from DVDFab HD Decrypter and transcode or compress as normal.
(3) start ImgBurn and burn your ready to burn movie files (ISO or VIDEO_TS).
