Should dvd fab be used with any dvd??

Should any dvd be running when using dvd fab? If it is there is a warning box that comes up when dvd fab non css begins. It can be closed out. I tried to open Star Trek without any dvd running and it would not, it did open in dvd fab with any dvd running but I had other problems. Would the new dvd fab 6 "css" fix this? Thx!!
