Just installed shrink and its running VERY slowing, taking 10 hours to create a ISO image. Is it the DMA and if so, what to do? Thanks....

You can web search if it is DMA & how to sort it out, if it's not it'll be file size & % of compression coupled with what i would think be a single cpu machine, you might want to look at dvdfab as an alternative especially for ripping later dvd

I'd say it is most likely a DMA issue, i.e. you need to ensure that your DVD drive's DMA is in use. Good & quick instructions can be found here:

Switch DVD drive to use DMA instead of PIO

Alternative reasons for such slowness would be:

a) disk you're ripping is scratched and DVD Shrink needs to re-read it constantly. If its scratched / dirty, clean the disk :-)

b) Your decrypting option, whichever it is, is having hard time decrypting the disk. Might try ripping the entire disk on HDD first before shrinking it?

c) You have already ripped the entire disk on your HDD and are using temp folder and the output folder on the same HDD as the original disk image is -- this causes your HDD to choke as it tries to read/write/write on same HDD. Switch the output & temp folders to different hard drives.

d) You have some back processes running that freeze the disk access, such as anti-virus scanning or something similar.
