Sony Q58 quit recording RW discs, but not others.

Sony DVD+RW DW-Q58A ATA drive always reconized DVD re-writables. Lately no matter what brand I get an error stating the drive does not reconize this type of media;DVD-RW, funny thing is the media in the drive is not -RW but DVD+RW.The media works on another pc with a LG DVD recorder, and until now always worked on this one. I took the above mentioned disc out and recorded some files from another PC no problem. I have tried Imgburn, DVD Shrink and Nero 9, all with the same results. I purchase animated dvd's for my 5 year old G'daughter and copy them for her to use on these discs so the orginals do not get ruined.But that is not the only reason I use them. Infact I seldom use them for that as my daughter buys most of them for her. I had no problem until recently. It only does it on RW discs. They are cheaper for me to use incase she ruins a RW . I would appreciate any help. It even does it if I try and burn my picture folders, states does not support DVD-RW discs..... Thanks in advance.
