I have searched for hours on this issue and done the following... dma check, turned off virus software, ran multiple tests on drives, reinstalled, etc. Still getting under 1k kb/s when encoding.

Acer Aspire X3200 R01-A3
2.10 gigahertz AMD Phenom 8400 Triple-Core
3840 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory
Windows 7 Ultimate 64x

Assuming that the disks have been ripped by the likes of DVDFab HD Decrypter and you are only using Shrink to transcode to a smaller size, try changing the video renderer or even turning off the preview (Edit > Preferences > Preview) or even updating the video card drivers.

Ok, just changed that around and nothing. My drivers are as up to date as possible.

Just ran a test compared to my laptop...

Dell Inspiron 1501
1.60 gigahertz AMD Turion 64 X2
894 Megabytes Usable Installed Memory
Windows XP SP2

Goes almost 3x as fast at peak speeds.

It's also running at less than 40% CPU Usage when encoding(desktop) with low priority mode unchecked.

You have lots of spare GB on the (defragmented) hard drive for the temporary files that DVD Shrink generates during encoding?

Yes, well over 200gb free.

Boot into safe mode and run it to see if it makes a difference or get an earlier version of DVD Shrink and try that.
Do 64 bit PC's have problems running a 32bit program - I don't know, it may be relevant.
Try posting at the Videohelp site for insights re Windows 7 and Shrink.

Ok, I want to add that when I do deep analysis I get 7k kb/s, but as soon as the encoding begins it dips to 1.3k and slowly falls to 900-1k.
