Greetings. I am not an advanced user so I may be doing something wrong. I recently backed up a concert and I found that I had to turn up my volume on my amp to near-peak level!!! Is there any way to increase the volume on a dvd soundtrack before burning it so it will not require such a high setting on my amp?
I have Rotel Processor (RSP-1570), Rotel 5ch power amp (RMB-1095, 200watts x 5 channels into 8 ohms), B&W 800 series speakers X 5 all around, playing DVD through Denon DVD-2910 player.
I tried to play back using the optical connection and selecting the DD5/1 track as well as using the analog input on the processor, which receives the 5/1 channels from the DVD player in analog but neither would play loud enough to create the experience I was after.....after about 45 minutes of running the RSP-1570 at "94," which is 94 out of 100 as the highest volume setting, the right channel on the RMB-1095 power amp shut down. I had to shut the power amp off for a few minutes and then turn it back on, which solved the problem of the right channel (it returned) but still, after another 5 minutes or so of playing it shut down again. I don't like to turn the thing up that high to get that volume and on most DVD concerts, around 75 to 80 is PLENTY loud! But, seems some are just either recorded low in the first place, or maybe there are some settings in Shrink I can tinker with to bring the level of the volume up so when played back, it will not require me to turn up my amp so high.
Please pardon the ignorance, but I really would like to know if there is a way to do this.
