Originally posted by mayra123: thanks guys for the info, but actually, dvd decrypter and any dvd, DO NOT do the same thing. any dvd is a driver that automatically removes copy protections on a dvd movie, therefore, windows and any dvd program see that dvd as unprotected, dvd decrypter is exclusively a ripper and an image burner. i know any dvd has a ripper feature also, but that is not its main purpose. by the way, is the any dvd ripper good and reliable?
thanks
Partially correct, therefore incorrect at the same time.
DVD Decrypter-the name says it all;it is not just a ripper/burner, it has decrypting capabilities(does what AnyDVD does, just in a different way), and they would probably conflict if both allowed to tackle the encryption. That's why you need turn off the structural protection removal in DVD Decrypter, and let it work just as ripper.
more or less, but not the same. when ANY DVD is active, as soon as you in sert the dvd movie, any dvd makes it unprotected, dvd decrypter does not do that automatically, you have to rip the dvd contents to hd first to see an unprotected file. right or wrong?
Yes, correct...But that doesn't happen magically, while the DVD "looks" unprotected, ANyDVD is working, constantly, while you rip it to your hard drive using whatever piece of software you want. If during this time you have another decrypter digging and trying to look for protection, you can have conflicts.
ok, so its safe to say that ANY DVD can be used with nero recode, for example, that has no decryption abilities, to encode a dvd movie to your hd , right?
using any dvd with recode should give no conflicts then right? i normally use ANY DVD WITH CLONE DVD 2, BOTH FROM SLYSOFT AND GET VERY GOOD COPIES, BUT SOMETIMES I LIKE TO RIP OR ENCODE WITH NERO RECODE. THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
