ive been using convertxtodvd version 3, and it has worked fine. I have burned hundreds of DVD's with no problem. Recently it has started freezing right when the burn is about to start, it will say "burn started" in the lower left hand corner but then it just sits there and doesnt do anything, basically locks my computer up. Ive tried a few different movies and tried it 4 or 5 times and the same thing happens.

So i decided to upgrade to version 4 to see if that did the trick, but NOPE....exact same thing.

Anyone had this problem? know how to fix it? its driving me up a wall that it gets all the way to the burn and locks up!I need to figure this out, thanks in advance!

This is why i won't have any program set to auto burn as the slightest problem in the burn setup/burn process and all the CPU/conversion time is wasted. I have all my programs set to do their work and manually burn the resulting movies with either imgburn or Nero.

See if you can find a logfile to give us something to go on

well i dont think it has anything to do with the fact that its set to burn right after conversion, because for 2-3 years it has worked that same way without a problem. Just recently the issue is happening every time.

Is there a way to obtain a logfile through convert x to dvd? I have version 4 i believe right now.

How would i go about it?

I'm on v2 so don't know where v4's logfile is, my v2 logfile is here ~ C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Vso\ConvertXtoDvd.txt

hmmm alright so ill either try to locate version 4's, or uninstall 4 and use 3 to present the log file.

Now can you pull the info any time? or do u have to try to burn something, then save and copy the log file or what?

Something off google ~ http://forums.vso-software.fr/5-where-ca...files-t126.html

I'm assuming that whatever burn program you have ConvertXtoDVD set to use, writes to the same logfile, if not you need to look for that program's logfile in case this is a burn issue and not a conversion issue

well i think it is a burn issue and not a conversion issue, because like i said...the conversion completes, then it goes through creating the menus and everything, and all of that finishes, then in the lower left hand corner it will say "burn started" and thats where it stays, frozen right there.

Logfile ?, and name of burn program ? (it'll be in ConvertXtoDVD's preferences somewhere.

edit- i made a booboo earlier, i just realised that my ConvertXtoDVD is v2 and not v3, i'll go back and edit my previous post.
