Hi and thanks in advance for any help you can offer me. I've searched the forums (here, and at Doom9, and at cdfreaks) but haven't found an answer to this question - so please forgive me if the answer is here and I simply haven't found it; maybe I'm using the wrong search terms.

Anyway, I'm trying to make my own "best of" compilation DVD of TV episodes. Each episode is coming from another DVD. I have used DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter to extract and copy entire DVDs before, but I've never used a program to extract an individual episode from a DVD - I'm not sure how to achieve that.

Once I have my individual episode files, I would like to burn them all to a single disc (some compression would be fine if it makes them fit). I would also like to be able to create a simple chapter menu, allowing selection of each episode or "play all."

I'm sure this is possible, I just don't know where to start. But I'm willing to learn.

Thanks again (in advance)!

You can rip individual episodes with DVD Shrink in Re-author mode. Then you can load the episodes in DVD Flick and make a menu for your compilation. Since the video source will be a DVD compliant mpeg, set DVD Flick not t re-encode the video.Make each episode a chapter.

It is simple enough!
If you didn't want a menu, everything could be done using DVD Shrink(except for the rip/decrypt part). If it is a newer DVD, you might have to use DVDFab Decrypter to rip it to your HDD, DVD Decrypter would not work on new releases, as it hasn't been updated in ages). DVDFab is free as well.

I don't know how DVD Flick reads each episodes if it is comprised of multiple .VOB files, so I would set-up DVD Shrink not to split the VOBs, instead make only one per episode.

Thanks again. One question - you said the source files would be .mpegs, but DVD Shrink only gives me the option to make .VOB files. How do I get the MPEG files?

Thanks again.

The video inside the VOB is mpeg, VOB is just the name of the container.
