I have ripped a DVD to my PC and have a fair idea of how to remove the chunkiest elements, but I would like to streamline the results.

I have:
- run the folder though MenuShrink (turns animated menus into stills and removes music)
- removed certain content with PGCEdit.
- "removed" certain buttons (the "Extras" button, for example), using this guide:
Edit and Delete DVD Menu buttons with PGCEdit

What I would like to know now is how I can remove the pointless structures, that are hidden but still exist?

While I have removed the ability for a user to click to the extras menu and removed the extras themselves, the extras menu had several sub menus. All of those are still in the DVD structure and may not be seen or take up much room, but could / should still be removed (at least as an exercise).

How can I do that?

If I could press a button and have everything underneath the "Extras" button, and anything attached to anything underneath it, just vanish and be smoothed over - I would. It may require effort to cut out these various sub structures, but can I? How do I?

Thanks.

Simply blank or hide the sub menus that are no longer accessible from the extra menu with VobBlanker. After that, run Find Uncalled PGCs in PgcEdit, and if there's any delete them.

I've seen plenty about VobBlanker, so I'll look into it. Can you recommend some guides - perhaps one for the general beginner and then another, if there is one, more for what I described?

Thanks.

This guide discusses blanking titles. You can apply the same concept in blanking menus. Basically, select the titleset containing the menus. Click on Menu button on the right to bring up the Menu window. Select the wanted menu PGC, preview to be sure you get the right one, and hit Blank. Continue the same process and hit OK at the end.

Sometimes there are more than one cell in a menu PGC. You can see this in the "# Cells" column. In this case, double-click on the entry to bring up the Cells In Menu dialog. Double-click on the specific cell to see the preview. Once you're sure which one you want to get rid of, hit Blank button.

Thanks. I'll get to it at some point this week and then post again.
