Whats up? I just borrowed AVS DVD authoring from a friend, and installed it. Surprisingly, i'm not liking it very much due to lack of options. **I've use a few other apps from them, and liked them***

Anyways, What I wanna do is, take a bunch of movies i have on my pc (mostly divx/xvid) and burn them to dvd's so they work in my dvd player. I am hoping to fit 2-3 movies on each dvd.

I am looking for more of a Professional type of authoring software with as many options as possible. 2 main things i want to be able to do is use animated .GIF's and create the menu's completely from scratch. with AVS, like most other software i've seen, it has the preset templates, which I can't stand. first page just has start/next button. I just want to have one button for each movie on the main page, keep it simple. So a total of 2-3 buttons will be visible right when the dvd loads. I don't want a chapters page or forward/back buttons. But i'd also like as many options as possible. for other situations i might want to do more.

Any recomendations would be appreciated. thanks.

Ulead DVD MovieFactory (plus) should do: http://www.ulead.com/dmf/compare.htm It has menu's to use or you can import your own video, has music (lame) or you can import your own, encode's (used to use MainConcept, don't know now, good quality though) and burn's. Your video's will have seperate menu button's but no appliance is going to put 3 video's on 1 DVD and maintain any kind of quality unless you burn as data and have a compatible player. Massive installed size but deleted all but the My Program's and My Document's Folder's quite a while ago and have seen no ill effect. Heard good thing's about TMPGEnc DVD Author and DVD-Lab but used neither.

womble mpeg video wizard dvd is as basic as it gets. It's simple but will also let you add your on menu background, have a moving preview or import a picture as the preview.
