windows dvd maker not finalizing or buring properly?

i made a dvd with windows dvd maker and it works fine plays on dvd player but the next one i made wont but it does in a pc. when i look at it on the my computer part the 1 that works has a dvd logo but the 1 that dont work has the dvd logo and a big red line next to it saying how much space is left also on the roxio burn bit is like a normal dvd for the one that works but the others have still got green segments.
is windows dvd maker a trial that give you just 1 dvd (am on windows 7)
did i fill the dvd up to much. but when i look at the space used on eatch dvd the 1 that works has used more
is there a way to finalise it after the burn
or is my pc not working at burning dvds any more
plz help me sorry to go on for so long just sick on wasting dvd-r after dvd-r
