SE K800i, strange behavior (sim-lock: 5)

Hi,

I got a Sony Ericsson K800i and have a strange behavior about an american SIM card. I bought it in Germany (T-Mobile) and it says about the lock-"level" that it is "5". (for network, and so on... everything 5). Now I got an american SIM-card from NET10, it's prepaid, and put it into my K800i. First, in the first few seconds I was able to receive text messages and it said "AT&T" about the network. But then I couldn't answer that msg, it says "No access to network" about the network.
It does not say "Please put in the right SIM card"!

Can anyone explain this and help me?
