samsung u470 juke need help

here I found a samsung juke u470 that the people at a local event center were throwing away since its been in the lost and found for a year and a half this thing is in great condition. and the reason they throwing it away is verizon need confirmation on the last number that was on the contract its apparently active...

is there anyway to flash this thing to make it into a prepaid phone that i can use?

Oh i tried *22898 and nope they want the previous number and everything...

Is thing just trash?? parts??? or useable???
