5.50 gen-x fw on slim 3001-4?

Perhaps this has been discussed, but is there any way to install 5.50 gen or any new CFW on a psp slim (3001-3004)? I realize that these models can only run cfw over HEN. Just wondering.

OK, so I can upgrade from 5.03 GEN to 5.50 GEN-D on a slim 3001? Just want to make sure I'm not about to brick.

Actually, I just figured out the problem. I have been running 5.03 MHU over HEN for several months now, and was unable to play many new games (particularly SH:Shattered Memories). I figured out that I could switch to GEN-C and play 6.xx games w/out a separate eboot patch. All is fixed; all is well. SH:Shattered plays great on 5.03 GEN-C. Thanks!

Actually, the soft-mod is a hassle that I've learned to live with pretty well.. I just keep the .tiff and CFW-enabler files on my psp at all times, so if I accidentally lose the mod on-the-go - I can just re-mod in a matter of minutes. :-)

Thanks, Mick! Hopefully this thread can be a resource for anyone with a slim/TA-088 psp that wants to run 6.xx games without waiting for a patched iso to hit the trackers.

its a solution for phat and some slim, sadly not the 300x series at the moment. remember it does not cover TA-088v3

I have a 3002/ta-088v3. The mod is temp, runs over hen, and disappears upon shutdown, but if you leave the mod files on the memstick and keep the system on constant standby - the mod is semi-permanent and easy to reinstall. Plus, 5.03 GEN-C for HEN has all the features of 5.50 GEN-D3... I can live with the temp-mod, for sure.
