8 gb mark 2 memory card in a psp-1001??

I was thinking about buying an 8 gb memory card. I have a psp-1001 and cfw 5.50 GEN-A (Full) and was wondering if an 8 gb mark 2 memory card would be compatable?? Please help!

I have a 1001 and a 8gb mark2, so I can confirm that it does work. However, I am on 5.00 m33-6 so I can't confirm the firmware portion of that. I would be shocked if it didn't work on that firmware though.
