Okay, so I bought a psp phat, that had a few issues with it, and I was figuring to just repair some of the issues, since it would be cheaper then buying a used psp. Anyways, it's a PSP-1001 Model, and the issues it had was the UMD Drive didn't work anymore, sound wasn't working, and a small crack in the screen (can barely see it).
So I just took out the UMD Drive, cause I'm doing a mod to internalize SD Cards in the space. Now when I took it apart to take out the drive, I put it back together, and all of a sudden the right on the dpad won't work? If the faceplate is taken off then it will work fine. So I have a new shell coming in the mail, so hopefully when it's installed in there, it may go back to normal, but if it doesn't I don't know what the issue would be?
Now for the sound, I was hoping that it was just the speakers that needed to be replaced, but now that I think about it, I'm worried that it will be something with the motherboard, and those aren't cheap to replace.
So ya if anyone has any suggestions, would really appreciate it!
The speakers are also covered by a fuse F7 on the motherboard, ALWAYS replace the speakers if this fuse is blown as it will have blown for a reason.
D pad - catching another button can cause this, also the foil underneath the buttons can corrode, just check it is clean and has no white shadowing on it
