Ok so I've browsed google for 3 or 4 days now trying to find a solution in various forums before resulting to posting in one, but at this point I am all out of options. I've read thread after thread of basically this same issue, and have tried EVERYTHING I have read to try to fix it myself, so please take the time to see if you can diagnose my problem.

so I have the latest CFW M33 5.5 and have changed my settings in the recovery menu to reflect changes such as this:
Game folder homebrew (5.xx Kernel (also tried 1.50))

UMD Mode (SOny NP9660 -NO UMD-) Also tried running it with a umd in diff setting

Additionally I tried formatting the flash and changing the fake region to Japan, just to see what would change (nothing).

So in having these settings I have tried to launch the game "Patapon 2" from my memory stick in the games section of the main menu, the .cso file is saved within my root ISO folder on my memory stick (as I have read to do COUNTLESS times). The thumbnail of the game appears and a short music clip plays as to advertise the game when highlight it. Selecting the game brings the white psp loading screen, along with a short pause, and eventually kicking back to the home screen with the error code: 80000108 The game could not be started.

A few other things I tried including converting the .cso to an .iso and placing that in the folder, but doing this has only ever lead to the memory stick freezing upon selection and shutting the system down. I also tried to go from cso>dax>iso, but same problem. I will point out that I have successfully run my SNES emu on here and played a few roms just fine, and for it is worth my psp is most likely of the very earliest model, I got it right when they came out.

Any insight into this problem would be tremendously appreciated, it is frustrating as I feel like I have done my research but still can not correctly diagnose the issue. Regrettably, this is the only cso(or iso) file I have to work with right now, so I can only assume the file works properly(although it may not?). Sorry if this question is over asked, but I honestly have no idea as to what to do next.

The error you have is related to playing games from a different region. Also do you have Gen cfw 5.50 GEN D-3

CFW 5.50 GEN-D3 indeed. Can the problem be resolved in any way that you know, perhaps faking a different region?

Hold the R trigger as your turning on your psp. A recovery menu should pop up. Go into the configuration and there you can find out.

Yes I know how to use the recovery menu, thats how I supplied all of the other information and changed things around in it, but I dont see any specific driver related options. What are some of the common drivers called? I'll tell you if I see anything like that in the menu

Did a pink screen flash the first time you ran the game. Where did you get this game.

No pink screen, the white psp loading screen comes up, and then after a pause (just a black screen) it exits back to the main menu with an error code. I downloaded the file online

Download another copy, format your memory card and try again. My opinion is that the CSO you downloaded is corrupt or incomplete backup.
