I currently have 3.52 M33-4 firmware. Im trying to upgrade to any custom firmware that will let me play Dante's Inferno without having error 80020148. I have not upgraded my firmware in almost 2 years. Every time I try to install the upgrade, I get a message saying that I need version 3.52 M33-3 or higher in order to install. But I already have 3.52 M33-4, which is obviously higher. I have tried upgrading to 3.71 M33, 3.80 M33, and 3.90 M33. All of them have given me the same message. So how can I fix this issue?

Look for Hellcats Recovery Flasher, google!
This will allow you to flash straight to 5.00m33-4, then get the minor update to go to -6 (this has a memory card speed up option in the recovery settings, great for speeding up .cso files.
5.00m33-6 will play most games however a lot of new games will need to be the "fixed" version
Alternatively once at 5.00m33-6 you can upgrade to 5.50genD3, most games do not need patching, however the really new ones (6.20 Sony firmware) do. It also does not have the speed up option and some homebrew and PS1 game compatibility is not as good as m33
