CFW number question

I haven't messed with downgrading in a long time, my cfw is 4.01 m33-2 and i saw that the cfw is in the 5's now. i can't remember if i need to install each firmware till i get to the most up to date, or if i can just install the most up to date one right away?

depends on the mother board, but if it has cfw already on it then should be ok on the slim as well.

Got it on the slim alright. Only thing is, the slim won't play backups, and my phat will. I loaded UMDemulator on there, but still, no dice. any ideas?

what did you get on the slim? if you have cfw on the device there is no reason why it should not play backups.
