I have a psp slim 2001 with cfw 5.50 GEN-D. I am running a version of Popsloader described as being made for "all 5.50 gen" cfw's (hope that helps). My version of Pops runs 3.00 to 4.01.
I am running a multi-disc eboot (2 discs total) of chrono cross. The game runs flawlessly on pops 3.72. When it comes time to switch from disc 1 to disc 2 the game does not use a save point, but instead prompts you to switch discs.
I press home, and switch discs through the menu, since it is a multi-disc eboot there is no need to save (in theory). But when I select disc 2 it says "wrong disc". The game does not crash, it just will not let me progress.
I can then switch back to disc 1 but it will again tell me "wrong disc".
5.50 GEN-D3: 3.80 pops using psx2psp kept original main ID but changed game id on both discs to SCUS-94640 created a single disc eboot successfully able to see status screen and no freezes on bosses works perfectly same on 5.00 M33-6 firmware.
5.50 GEN-D3: Run on 3.80 Pops using Game ID: SCUS-94640. I made a multi-disc eboot with RS-GUI PopStationMD by Red Squirrel. No Mamma Komodo freeze, and no character status screen freeze. Runs almost completely perfect. Only lags a bit when going into to battles
It should work according to PSX on PSP Compatibility list

Thats the list on gamers press right?
I have tried with 3.80 on pops. Should I downgrade my firmware to 5.00 m33-6 and than try 3.80?
And I only have the eboot right now, can I still change the game id and if so what is the best way?
Originally posted by kittymat: have heard rumours that the pops on gen-d3 is not as good (have you got the d3 final as some of the earlier versions - also called d3 have issues)
I am still on m33-6, if you downgrade make sure you get the pops loader for m33 software
thanks man
not sure how to downgrade without pandora so charging it as i post
