Error when running emu on CFW 5.00 M33-6

When I first got MAME running I went through a bit of trouble. However, once I had it up and running I was pleased. So, I went ahead and tried to put a CPS1 & CPS2 EMU on my MS and could not get it started.

I hunted around and tried putting the files in both the PSP/GAMES & PSP/GAMES1.XX folder without any success. Upon researching the error code. (please see below) It got me wondering that even with 5.00 M33-6 will it not run these EMUs?


80020148 = PRX type unsupported
Explanation: This error comes up when you try to use emulators, homebrew, etc. on a psp with version 1.52 and higher.

What should my next step be? Should I continue to troubleshoot with these EMUs or look for ones that will run on 1.52 or higher?
