Apologies for ignorance (New user and feel about PSP like my grandmother felt about cell phones when it just came out!). Just bought a PSP 3000 slim for my son in Thailand. ALso 16GB memory card. The shop loaded some movies and games. After playing on it for a while one of the game folders is gone (other games still there and working fine). I connected PSP to my computer and can still see the game folder there. I have copied the folder to my computer as a backup.
I have followed some advice - like creating txt file in games folder (still not working). So I have a few questions:
1. How do I copy game file back onto PSP from computer and will it work?
2. Could this be because I might have bought a fake memory card - how do I check this?
4. How do I get the games to work again?
Thanx

Try reformatting the memory card and putting the games back into /psp/gamefolder.
Or your memory card might be fake (I know, I came across one myself). Try formatting it with NTFS file system. if it's fake, the formatting will fail.

Hi
Info says Magic Gate Unknown (presume this means it is fake?)
System Software Version 5.03
Looked like reputable dealer. Gave great service. Even downloaded some of my sons DVD's for him on PSP.... PSP and card in original packaging...
Guess if you don't know what you should be looking for it is easy to buy the wrong things...
Do I need to make BU's of other games still on the PSP (and operational?)
Thanx

Hi
I have rebooted memory stick and tried to reload all the files. I can see folder with games when psp is linked to computer, but psp does not want to display games. Games are all iso. Saw that it does not work with 5.03, but does not understand why it worked initially... Does it mean we have to downgrade to get games to work?

your putting ps1/psx eboots in the psp/game folder right? psp iso/cso files got in the ISO folder on the root of the card i.e not in any other folder
also CR-5400 memory adapter with 2.micro sd cards works well and is cheap and easily available.

Files still in the ISO folder as was originally set-up by shop. I copied exactly as it was. I can see the folder on the psp when connected to the pc - but cannot see the games on the psp when disconnected. Everything else is working perfectly - movies and some of the other games (they are however not iso). Could it have to do with my system software - 5.03?

ISO will not run on official firmware of the memory stick, did you have custom firmware on it temporarily

To tell you the truth - I have no idea. Is a PSP novice. Bought it from a shop with everything loaded and working. Def 5.03 on the PSP. All was working fine and trusted that it would in future, until a week later.... How can I rectify this?

It's a PSP 3000, that means it isn't fully hackable at the moment, so the moment you switched it off totally (powered it off, not only in standby mode) the firmware reverted back to original and you can't play backup games anymore.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
