Hello, I've installed CFW before a long long time ago on a fat psp, but now I have a Slim psp and I see alot has changed since I last installed any CFW and I'm a bit confused as what would be the easiest method.
The Slim psp is running OFW 3.80. If I remember correctly I must downgrade it first then upgrade to M33 or something similar? Also, if I have to use the Pandora Battery method, will it involve me modifying my battery or buying extra tools or something or is it done through files off the memory stick?
Also, one last question, will I be able to play PSX games ok? Is the Slim able to do that? I remember the fat needing the 1.5 Kernal to play them.

Thanks alot for any help, it's greatly appreciated, and sorry if this seems like a dumb question, I'm just a bit confused with all the different guides out there :D

Thanks again, Liam.

there are two versions of the slim 2001 and 3001. If you have a 3001 it can only be temporarily modded and the 2001 is the golden permenant mod. There are several different ways to do the 2001.

Softmodded battery - Software on an already hacked PSP that makes pandora.

Hardmodded battery - pandora

Pandora tool for purchase on internet. - your battery lays into the device and makes it temporarily pandora.

CHICKHEN - this is an easy way to do it without pandora but you still need a memory stick to start. It will make the battery pandora if i not mistaken so you have to unmake it using software.
a guide for this is here

as for the PSX games yes you will play them fine. Nothing new needed just the games in the right format.

I went to 5.00 M33 first, then went to 5.50 GEN-D3 from that and it seems to do everything I need so far, only thing I havn't tried is emulators and themes, which i'll try later today.
Oh yeah, is the network update working with this or is it always better to do it manually? Also, is there a patch to allow the PSN Store to be accessed? Not a big deal but would be nice.
Thanks.

I prefer to do it manually myself so I have no clue if it does work as for PSN store i would doubt you could get it to work cause due to security checks. Try google a bit and tell us what you find i guess.

I remember putting CFW on my nephews psp a while ago and I did something to enable him to use the store, but his versions probably way out of date now. I'll do like you said and use good old google to look into it :D
