HELP with installing CFW on PSP-2001

I just got a brand new PSP 2001 series. I made the magic memory stick. Ive tried a billion different programs to make it and they all successfully made it. I also have a Pandora's battery. Whenever I go and try to install the custom firmware on the PSP, i hold left/L1 trigger or whatever the program says to do while putting the PBattery in. Whenever I do this, I never once got the flashing red lights on the left side of the screen and then the CFW install options come up. The screen just stays black and the green power light stays on. I thought it was my memory stick because I did have a fake one. So I bought a brand new 8gb sandisk memory stick that is real from walmart. Ive tried using all the programs and still NO LUCK. This is getting very frustrating how I see everyone else do it on youtube, but I cant ever get the screen to popup to install the custom firmware. PLEASE HELP.

-My PSP2001 is not a "G" Series
-It came installed with 4.05 official firmware

PLEASE HELP ME INSTALL CFW!
