I have successfully done this exploit once, but accidentally turned my PSP off and lost the custom firmware. I have tried doing it again about 200 times (no joke) over the course of the past month or 2 and it just WONT work anymore. are there any easier ways or more successful ways of getting the exploit to work? i have searched but nothing has worked so far.
Yes you can use MHU SPEED v3 its supposed to be much easier and faster to load than ChickHEN R2, it also is less likely to crash. You can get it here, MHU SPEED V3
Most likely your memory card, I have a 1GB Sandisk and 1GB Sony and these will both run chickhen, other cards do not or seem to take ages.
Format the memory card, ONLY put chickhen on it, go to system settings on the PSP and restore default settings. With the right memory card should take a maximum of 5 times.

It's not that easy, first you need to find out if your psp can run CFW natively, if it is PSP 1000 series then go ahead and update to 5.00 CFW. If it is a PSP 2000 series, check to see if the serial starts with HU2, you will not able to run CFW natively and you will need to use CFW ENABLER. This also applies to a PSP 3000 Series. If it your unsure about the PSP 2000 series run Hellcats Recovery Flasher 1.60 and this will tell you if can go ahead and install CFW.

i have gone from chicken to 5.00 m33-6 my question is cn i go 5.50 cfw without pandora battery i have a 1003 psp.

MHU SPEED worked! thanks alot! it was frustrating. It took 3 tries and it worked, also i switched to my 1gb sandisk memory card too, so that might have helped too (I actually think that may have been the original one i used)
