HELP WITH XGEN V2 updater

i have a fat psp.
I HAVE A PROBLEM>
i am currently on 3.71 m33-2
and i want to update to 5.50gen b2
i just downloaded xgen v2 updater. its suppose to directly update my psp to 5.50genb2
so i need help how to do it?
i put the 550.pbp file in the root of the stick.
then i put the update folder in the psp/game/
i run the app from the psp then the psp hangs and shuts down automatically. when i open the psp again i am still on 3.71m33

so i need some advice.
where do i put the update folder in the game? or game150? or game 371?
and what kernel to set from the recovery menu?

U need 2 upgrade all the way up, the only way 2get 2gen-b2 is from 500m33-6, the only way 2 get there is from 401m33-2 theres an upgrade guide in my sig

why should i go in steps when the xgen v2 updater says clearly that any firmware with 3.71m33 or above can directly be upgraded to 5.50genb2

so can someone help me out here plzzz.

Correct it does

With the update to Gen, always - remove any custom theme, disable all the pluginsbefore you start.

This is the one I used ? thanks to Cheeze6661!

Extract and place the "update" folder in your "Game" folder.

Place the "5.50.pbp" in the root directory of your memory stick.

Now run the "XGEN INSTALLER".

Hit "X" to enter. Then hit "X" on "Flash install CFW 5.50gen-b2". (the second one down)

While trolling around myself for this very problem (running 3.90 M33 myself) I found this tidbit of info from someone else's experience using this method. I'll update to 4.0 to see if means anything but figured it'd be worth mentioning to some of you folks.

XGEN Updater does not work on every firmware. Here are the results of my test on a phat:

3.52 M33-4 Freezes when you press X to Enter at the main screen
3.71 M33-4 Shuts down shortly after "Now load all modules from UPDATER"
3.90 M33-3 Shuts down shortly after "Now load all modules from UPDATER"
4.01 M33-2 Works
5.00 M33-6 Works
5.02 GEN A Works

CONFIRMED worked for me. I had the exact problem you guys have and I went:

3.90 M33 > 4.01 M33 > 4.01 M33-2

Then ran the Xgen V2 again and it worked just fine as they say. Hope this helps guys.

i think every1 whos psp is in the cfws lower than 401 should upgrade. theres nothin the lower 1s hav that 401 and up dnt hav and itll solve every1s easy probs
