From what information I was able to gather I know that it has to do with the firmware (3.95 and below or your screwed) and the start of the serial number (no letter or A-G and your fine). However, great as all this is, I need to know if, when buying one, which PSP 2000 will meet any of the criteria of being hackable. I mean is there a way to tell just by looking, or do you have to take your chances?
i dont think there is a way of telling if a PSP is hackable just by its appearence. you have to take your chances and buy the PSP and then use pspident or chickHEN to identify the motherboard.
PS all motherboards are hackable even the TA-088 =)
FOLLOW THIS FORUM IT WILL TELL YOU EXACTLY WHATS HACKABLE OR NOT.
BY EXPER. SILVER, RED, BLUE PSP 2000 ARE HACKABLE AND AS WELL AS ALL PHATS...BUT THE PSP 2000 BLACK & PSP 3000 ARE TRICKY THEY CAN BE DONE BUT YOU CANT TURN PSP OFF OR YOU HAVE TO RELOAD CFW

I'm aware that your just trying to be helpful, but most forum goers consider that to be rude, and you may end up getting banned for it if done too many times. *points to the rules about campaign against bad attitude*
Amway, I managed to give it a read over once before, and I'll try that out latter. One question? What firmware is the most current for the PSP 2000? I've noticed two kinds: the 4.01M33-2 and the 5.00M33-4. Which is recommended for the PSP 2000?
No hard feelings; these things happen. Also thanks for the advice. I'll try to upgrade to that if possible. BTW; what are the differences between the two anyway?
No problem...Just to let you know I just downloaded the latest Update..after you download 5.00 M33-6 go to the following website and download 5.50 GEN-A not B...with this update you can play Madden 10. Save the GEN-A in PSP>GAME Folder. Then run program..and your DONE.
