how to I revert from CFW to OFW

I am new to all this so if this has already been asked I'm sorry. I just bought a PSP 1001 used on an auction. Got it in the mail and started playing around with it. Was going to the playstation store to look around, but couldn't as it states I need to update my ststem software. So I went to update but there It says I'm up to date. Come to find out from some searching I have a CFW of 5.50 GEN-D3. Well I was thinking about MODDING this at some point but not so soon. wanted to really research and know more about CFW and homebrew for PSP first.

I had read in some other forums stating that the newer games don't work on 5.50. Is this true? Is there something I can do to get around this? If I decide to switch from the CFW to the latest OFW how do I go about doing that? Do I need the Pandora battery and a MMS, or is there another way I can do this?

Since I am new I really don't know everything I can do with the custom firmware compaired to the latest OFW. Is there a newer CFW then 5.50 GEN D3. If there is do I still need the pandora battery and MMS to update?

Thanks for any info and help you can give me on this.

the easiest method would be use a pandora battery to downgrade. your custom firmware 550 gen d3 is compatible with all the newer games. so you shouldnt have any problems there. just format your memory card find the iso you want to play and put it in the iso folder. then just have fun.
