Hi. I read an old thread somewhere saying I need to upgrade to 3.03 then use GTA LCS to downgrade. I've seen more threads about updating to 5.03 somewhere and it doesn't say you need a game.
What would be the easiest way to get this PSP running CFW and what's the latest CFW?

The easiest way would be updating to 5.03 OFW and then using ChickHEN to directily go to the custom firmware you want.
The latest real custom firmware is 5.50 GEN-D3, but some people prefer custom firmware 5.00 M33-6. They don't differ that much and newer games have to be patched to work with either, so chosing one is really just a matter of taste.
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

lol just noticed the thread title says it. I ran chickhen and installed 5.50 gen d3 on it. Now the problem is how can i get it to run cso files? It wouldn't run devhook (I used devhook ultimate installer). I got error the game could not be started and some error code.

Just format the memory stick with the PSP (after you took off everything you need, ofc), then put the files into the ISO folder, that was created after the formatting. You can then select them as if they were on UMD. No loader needed anymore, DevHook is long history.

Thanks a lot. All the searching I done brought old 2006 threads saying you need devhook for CSO files. I got a new memory stick today and made an ISO folder and it didn't work. I didn't know I had to format first and that formatting created an ISO folder. Thanks for the help Eisherz :)
