Sorry, but I couldn't really understand where to "start" in the stickies.

I guess the most important thing I need to know is: if I wanted to play backups on my PSP, is flashing the firmware the only way to do it? I believe I heard somewhere that I could put something on my duo memory stick, which would enable the PSP to play downloaded backup games, without flashing anything.

I'm finding a lot of stuff about a "Pandora Battery," and this is what I've found out about it:
Quote:
Q. What exactly is the Pandora battery & what does it do? A. In a nutshell, what the Pandora battery does is allow a bricked or working official-firmware PSP to have access to view and run the programs installed on the magic memory stick. When you use a Pandora battery, you immediately see a list of options that are running off the magic memory stick. Therefore, both the Pandora battery and the magic memory stick are essential in unbricking or installing custom firmware on a PSP.
So...I guess question 2: is a pandora battery *required* to play backup games?

any suggestions would be great! i'd probably be able to work off of what you say. thanks!

No, the Pandora's battery is not required to play games, but it is required to be able to play games.

Normally, flashing the firmware on the PSP using both a Pandora's Battery and Magic Memory Stick (MMS).

Making a Pandora's battery requires you to open it up, and cut a prong. Do a quick search on YOUTUBE for "how to make a Pandora's battery"

Making a MMS is a little easier, using (what I used) PSP Grader. DOWNLOAD

Good Luck!

wait...

okay 2 people have told me that you can load something onto the PSP's duo memory stick

and supposedly this will let you play backup games that you can dl

i would much rather do that then to mess with the PSP's firmware, or make a Pandora battery

can anyone advise me?

edit:

I just found out about UMDloader and fastloader (lucky afterdawn stumble)

are these the best ones? thanks!

second edit:

shoot i JUST upgraded my PSP's firmware to the newest version
does that mean i can't run UMDloader anymore?

thanks
