Hi, hoping someone on here can help me. I'm not the most technical minded but willing to have a go at anything with the right instructions....
This time last year i was due on a long haul flight to Oz and needed something to entertain two young children. Enter the PSP...
A friend recommend a buy as earlier as possible PSP in original state and allow him to upgrade.. Brought a second hand PSP1000 (version 1.50), all appeared in good condition. My friend got too work, upgraded me according to firmware 3.52 M33-4 (is that right??). Seemed to do what i wanted anyway, brought myself 2 8gb memory sticks, filled one with games and one with videos and hey presto, long haul flight went very smoothly with kids entertained. Now here's the problem...
Repeating trip in 4 weeks so got the PSP out to try and update games and films with kids now a year older.. Upon turning on, everything appeared ok, but within a couple of mins of playing any game, UMD's, ISO's or CSO's the screen and unit is completely locking and nothing i can do other than remove battery and reset system. Starts again ok, before same thing happens again. Exactly the same when watching movies from alternative MS card. Very frustration... I also noticed that when i charge battery with system off, orange light appears for a few minutes when plugged in but disappear withing a couple mins also. When i take the lead out and reconnect, orange light again for a few minutes before disappearing. Not sure if this means anything...
Have spend last couple of days reading your forum, thought i may just have to downgrade and start again ala 12 months ago and this is where the original instructions come from, but i'll show my ignorance and admit most of it is like reading a foreign language....
Anyone who can offer any advice/instruction on my probelm in simple form would be very much apprieciated..
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.
Maybe narrowing down a little now though. Problmes seems to be when PSP takes the slighest knock during gameplay/video. i.e. ok when watching in the hand but moment you put down on table or slight pressure applied on back of PSP, interuption occurs.. This definately wasn't a problem 12 months ago, kids can be pretty heavy handed with these things but defintely appears to be the issue now. Remember it being dropped from a bunkbed last year yet still carry on working no probs... Exactly the same thing happens with or without battery...
