Need Help 5.50 Gen D2 to 5.00m33-6

My friend wanted to play a game and couldn't, so he upgraded his 5.00m33-6 slim (2000) to 5.50 Gen D2 (I don't know how he did it). He says that when he plays Half Minute Hero (off the umd) there is no sound, but this is the only game that has this problem. If he is playing a psp game (PSX is fine) and attempts to go back to the xmb, his psp freezes on the please wait screen.

I just learned how to patch games for 5.00m33-6 and see no need to upgrade CFW:

So I need a way to fix his problems. I figure we should put him back on 5.00m33-6. I'm not exactly sure how to do that:

1. Hellcat recovery 1.6 in this video here should do it right? FAIL

I get critical errors that says it can't be done:
1st page: error loading iplupdate.prx
tried to install cfw: error reloading decrpyter, all kinds of crap.

2. I also read this can be done with a pandora battery, is that true? SUCCESS!

3. Is there another method we could use to try to find out why these problems are happening?

just get a fat pandora battery and a magic ms and download the firmware u want to downgrade to and boom done :D if u need more info send me r private message

I used my old pandora after the hellcat recovery program failed and it worked fine, got him back on 5.00m33-6 and everything is good.
