Check the field DATE CODE on the sticker under the battey, what does it say?
Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Untouched 160 GB Slim, 60 GB Fat with latest Rogero and 160 GB internal harddrive.
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: Black with a Viper chip installed. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

look under the battery and tell him what the date code is it says date code and then a white box with a code in it, if yours says 8c you are waisting your time trying to downgrade it.

only with ofw 5.02 via chicken, your motherboard is not compatible with pandora.

OFW 5.03 ;)
Your PSP has got a TA-088 v3 motherboard, can only be temporarily hacked with ChickHen, which as said only works with OFW 5.03. Temporarily means if you switch it off completely or the powersupply goes off (i.e. you run out of battery power) it reverts back to OFW.
I was talking about this field here:

If it sais 8c or above, your PSP has a TA-088 v3.

dear team,
I have exactly the same problem with my PSP-2004.
I followed all the steps from several guides/sources.
it seems to me the pspgrader v008 is working well.
My Date Code is 8A, so no problem with TA-088 v3.
I bought a pandora battery in the internet. It is orange (not black) and made in china (well, almost everything now is made in china anyway).
So, I am somehow frustrated because the guidelines are so clear and easy to follow.
As soon as I create the magic memory stick, connect the pandora battery and press the top left button on the PSP, nothin happens at all.
Any ideas?
thanks in advance.

ok let start by 2 questions, what firmware do you have just curious, and what happens when you put the pandora in? screen black with green light? does the memory card light flash?

firmware: 6.10
when I put the pandora in nothing happens: screen black, no green light and no memory card light flash.
More details:
After using de PSPGrader8 and "create pandora stick" I removed the original battery and while pressing the top_left PSP button I introduce the pandora battery.
Nothing happens: No screen, no light, no noise. nothing.
By the way, when using the PSPgrader to create the pandora stick, looking at the final messages from the log window seems that everything was OK, but looking up in the log the 2nd line says "IPL injection failed". Is it a problem?
I also tried to introduce the pandora without the MStick but the power light did not come on at all.
However the pandora battery works very well as a normal PSP battery.
When I push the power button using the pandora battery, the PSP works perfectly and the battery gets charged as a normal one.

sounds to me that you dont have the battery pandorized. if the battery is truely in service mode, it should turn on the green light when inserted and the left button held in, do you have any way to check it and make sure it is in service mode?

What I mean is that I can use my "pandora" battery as a normal PSP battery. It charges normally and once I put it in and connect the power button it works well.
However, it does not bring the green light on if I don't press the power button, such as when I use the Magic MStick to hack the PSP.
Is it clear?

It's not a Pandora's battery.
If it works like a normal psp battery, then it is a normal psp battery.
A Pandora's battery will put the ps into "service" mode and will not allow you to use the psp as normal.
