So What i need to know is:
1.what memory card i have to buy (make and size recommended, only have a few games at a time on it) plus the best cheapest place to buy it in UK.and....
2. how do i set the mem card up to use iso files on the PSP... where do i put the iso files etc.

You lot know everything so over to you... cheers all :)

Hi there. When you will purchase a memorystick Pro Duo, just format it in "system settings - format memorystick". Connect your psp to the computer and put ISO and CSO to the folder ISO.

You can use both variants, but some pc memory card readers do not work correctly with such cards. Try it 1st. If your want to connect your computer with your console you will need a USB-miniUSB cable.
