Hello, I just bought a used PSP on ebay. It's a slim God of War red. From the add, it looks like it already had CFW installed on it

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?View...=tab%3DWatching

Anyway. It arrived yesterday and the thing won't stay on. It made it into the menu a few times... but not long enough to do anything. If I put it on hold it stays on, but won't do anything. So here's what I've tried

I let it charge for a few hours on both the Ac adapter it came with and my girlfriends

I tried booting it with and without the battery, and using her battery

I tried recovery mode, still turns off after a short period of time

tried booting with no battery and just the adapter

probably a few more things... anyway my point is I'm sure its the system itself. I emailed the guy and he said I'd have to send it back and doesn't do refunds... ass... anyway I don't want to send the stupid thing back. So i need advice on what to try. Is it bricked, semi-bricked, broken? I have a pandora battery and downloaded a pre-made magic memory stick 5.00 m33-6 (supposedly the firmware it's on)

Let me know please

edit: some more info... I tried reinstalling the cfw using the mms and pandora battery which worked... and the damn thing stays on while the pandora is in and working... but as soon as I try it without it randomly shuts off again.

i have had one of those and what problem i found was the button for the light was bad. when it goes off, try and push around the light button the square one, and see if it comes back on, if it does you will have to replace the button bar.

Hi there. If your "magic" memorystick is alright, on your own risk dissamble your psp and clean all contacts with non-alcohol fluid for cleaning. Also you can accurately clean the motherboard with cotton buds if there is any dirt or anything like this.
