Correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't done this yet myself (still researching >_< ), but a Pandora's battery isn't used for playing games on, since it disables the EEPROM chip and disables the battery from being used as a normal battery. Its used to enter service mode on your PSP so you can add CFW or to unbrick it.
There are Pandora's batteries out there that will let you charge and play games with, but you have to push a button or flip a switch somewhere on the battery to disable it from entering service mode.

If they have 3000 - thats the problem
If you have a go at hacking those you can brick them - forever!!
You CANNOT pandora a 3000

I had the same problem.
I had a bricked PSP - easy I hear you say - use Pandora and MMS.
BUT the Pandora battery needs to be charged to above 72% (approx)
To charge my Pandora battery you need to use the power adapter then boot to XMB then put it in.
Chicken and egg - How do you charge a Pandora battery that needs a working XMB ?
You need to borrow another PSP to charge it - but if you could have done that, you could have done the softmod Pandora anyway and converted it back again when you were done.
If you only have one PSP and the battery needs charging you could run some small wires from the power adapter straight to the battery with no PSP and ensure there are no short circuits (or else fire/explosion will follow) AT YOUR OWN RISK !!

If you just swap the batteries over - the Pandora will charge in the PSP - providing you are using the mains charger.

Don't flame me ............... mine doesn't charge when you simply swap them over (when the Pandora hasn't got much / no charge left)
ie when you put the Pandora in you get no lights - Very low charge.
I suppose the answer is don't leave it that long between charges - but how often do you use Pandora battery ? - Only when bricked or want a complete downgrade to CFW.

This is actually an issue with all PSP batteries - if they go completely flat.
Leave it on charge for about 30 mins - it should come back to life, start charging normally.
My son left his PSP on, when we came back to it, dead, plug it in - dead, not charging. Change the battery with my PSP mine was dead and would not charge - his was fine.
I left mine on charge and when I came back an hour later it was charging and has been fine ever since.
