Hey Guys,

I have a phat psp that I had modded a while back with cfw 4.01 on a fake memory stick. Everything was fine, my umds and isos would play and life was good. Then one day I was playing a game and the psp froze. I booted it back up but couldn't play umds or isos(yes I know about the umd options in recovery). I thought maybe it was my fake memory stick, so I went to radio-shack and bought a 2 gig. Still the problem existed. So I got a pandora battery and used Rain's ultra lite mms and put a fresh 5.0 cfw on the psp. STILL the problem exists. When I put a umd in the drive I scroll over to the game on the psp homescreen (umd autoplay shut off) and it reads it, and plays the little introduction movie. Then I click on the game and it goes to the white psp screen then just turns off.
I've tried hellcats flasher and still the problem exists. I've even gone to 1.50 fw and upgrade, still there. Then I went to original firmware, then back to hacked and yet to my demise, I still have the problem. I've tried key cleaner as well, it seems like nothing I try works.

Here are a couple short clips to show you my problem...

I know this is long but I'm really hoping you hacking gawds out there can helpp me. I appreciate your time
-Ben

I have two umd games. The video shows what happens to my gta disc, I also have monster hunter 2. When I put that one in the psp reads it and actually goes to the start screen, I press start and it goes to a loading screen, that's where it pauses every time. As for iso's, it seems like the psp can kind of read some, such as patapon, but the horizontal bars I pointed out in the movie are still there. But if I put in a different game it wont even load. I haven't tried a movie, since I don't have any. Any Ideas?

Oh and thank you for the reply,

-Ben

if you want my opinion, i think the drive motor in your umd drive is going out.

i didnt know that the isos wouldnt work either. ok i would suggest upgrading to gend3 see if that solves the problem, if not downgrade back to 1.5 and then start step by step moving back up the ladder, try the games as you move up to see if it is something thats happening at a certain point. if you try those things and still have the problem, i am guessing that your ram or cpu is going bad. lets hope that is not the problem, but its a good possibility.

might be worthwhile trying your mem stick in another psp (a friend perhaps), also d/load the iso's again (corrupt maybe), this will run out one cause at least
