ok, im newbie in psp hacking, i admit! i "had" a PSP Phat running on CFW 5.00 m33-6 Japanese Region... i was trying to install the new 5.50 GEN-A (eventually to Gen B2 as well) but i always encounter the DRNFFFFFFFB0 key 8 error... so i searched and found that ID storage can fix the key 8 error...

at first, using ID Storeage Manager, I put the key 9 as :
70 44 43 4C 01 00 00 00 0C 00 00 00 76 FC 19 C8 0A 00 19 00 10 00 0D 00 07 00 02
but nothing happened... still error on 5.5gena upgrade...
so i just changed the first four characters as ASCII "p D C L"...
then the problem happened!

I got the green light power LED and blank screen... no sound, no reading of UMD....

I asked a friend for a Pandora battery and MMS... nothing happened... we even changed my battery to pandora (powers on once you put in) and created MMS 5.00 using rains simple mms maker ver5.0... again nothing happened... i used lower version rainmmsmaker1.0...
ver401ofw150addon... does not work same result..
ver371ofw150addon... does not work same result...

btw, the jigbrick batt we created using 5.50 Gen B2 PSP's VHS menu -> change battery to pandora option... well we tested that batt on a PSP slim and can open a MagicMS fine... so we assume "IT IS" a pandora batt...

any idea what else to do? before i bring it to PSP shops and charge me fortune?!?

PLEASE HELP!!!

THANKS!

i dnt trust programs softmodding batteries. did u hardmod the bat u dnt think that works? did u do it right? take off pin5?

im not 2 sure bout testing a phat's bat on a slim tho, thats like trying 2 plug in a laptop with a desktop cord, 2 distinctively different things.

only have one battery and one PSP so i dont want to hardmod that battery...

anyway, update, I tried to bring the psp to the shop, and they put in their pandora batt (hardmod one since it got cables attached to it) and their MMS... no response.... guy said might be HW...

oh well, whats the correct solution for this blank screen green power light type of PSP phat brick anyway? if its pandora, what combination of pandora? what OFW version?

OK... great update on my struggle to unbrick my PSP...

using a 4.01 MMS, it seems that the MemStick can be read by my bricked phat... (the 500MMS does not light up the LED of MS)...
now that I borrowed another PSP, i was able to walkthrough the menus...

astoundingly, it did read the 401MMS and when i pressed install CFW401 it did read the MS and afterwards... SOUNDS WAS HEARD AND WAS ABLE TO READ THE UMD AND PLAY IT!!! HOWEVER, it is still BLANK SCREEN!

I was able to troubleshoot by "listening" to the menus (counting each click to know at which menu i am...) and put in Key Cleaner apps on the mem stick and was able to run and dump the keys... when i viewed the dump in the pc... key8 is still there with "p D C L" value... (sorry bout the first post, it supposed to be Key 8)... which is the only key i editted and caused the problem... i even tried putting in the IDStorage Manager but it was hard to tell from the blank screen whether im pressing the correct button, even if im looking at another PSP for reference...

NOW how do i correct the keys? now that i have a working MMS and pandora bat 401, what option should i use to reset the IDStorage keys?!? preferrably, detailed menu please seems il be doin it blind...
