Hello to all,

If you cannot tell I am a complete noob here. I just recently dusted off my old psp 1000 and I decided I should hack it. There are a few questions I do have though. If I remember correctly it has version 3.90 on it. If I hack it using ChickHen, will I still be able to play regulary umd games and movies? Also would I ever be ever to set it back to its default settings? Lastly, how big are the iso games that I would have to download, can i save them as I progress, and where can i download them savely? These are just a couple of questions I had. Thank you very much for any help that you can give me.

Oh! I see what you did there!

Game piracy is a no-no - so you should not ask such a question of where can i download iso/cso games. think about it, what websites are the record, movie and game industries suing?

I'll answer the other two questions - though the first here still a grey area, IMHO. iso/cso varies from say 100 MB to 1.5 GB depending on the game and compression, etc. Saving a game as you progress depends on the game itself - but all games have saving feature, no?

yes, you can still play umd games and movies on a hacked psp. there are implications of using CFW with PSN access (though there are typically workarounds). you gotta remember sony doesn't like the exploits allowing to run homebrew and there is constant tit-for-tat exchanges between Sony and the homebrew community.

yes, you can always revert back to OFW (official firmware). a good thing about the phats is all phats on whatever OFW is hackable. either employ the chickHEN & HellCat's Recovery Flasher or use a pandora battery (PB) and magic memory stick (MMS). which method you employ kinda depends on what OFW version you start with, before you hack...
