ok got a laser problem, i have a psp 1003 runing on gen-d3..... when i power the psp on i can here the laser looking for the umd even thogh theres none in, when it stops i put in a umd and after a minute or so i get a message saying that it cant read the disc. ok so i power it down, before switching it back on i put a umd in and power it on, it starts up fine and reads the disc with no problems. I can then take one umd out and put another in and it will play all umds untill the battery runs out, but it will not read the umd if theres not one in at power up. Iv tried 4 lasers (used) and it does the same with all 4!!!!! could it be the switch on the door when i close it or do you think its a software problem, iv used d3 for a while and never had any problems, has anyone els had this sort of a problem, please let me know what yous think thanx jimmy.

i think its soft ware, it can read a disc at some point, try downgrading it and try a disc again, turn auto start off for the umd, restore default settings, look in recovery menu to see if something is set wrong
