PSP 3.71 update to CFW ????

Im admittedly a Noob on this - but i want to go from the sony 3.71 to any CFW - Is there any other way to do it than modding the battery ?? - If so could someone please point me in the right direction ?

Any help is much appreciated. :-)

My sps is now on 5.03 - But im still trying to find out if my MOBO is fully flashable - ive tried the PSPident utility but it says it corrupt and cannot run. Ive since read up that my PSP needs to be homebrew enabled ????? - How do i do this ??? - Am i doing something wrong ?

By the way my psp is a slim 3004

I don't know. I don't have a PSP3k. How old is it? On that post it said that ones made sold around june 09 are unhackable.

Did you place the files in the correct place?

1) If your PSP had 3.71 firmware - its hackable 100% the unhackables started at 4.01!
