PSP dead after iso swap on a MAC

I need some help.

I sold a guy a modded psp that had stopped working today after he attempted to add more files (iso)to the memory stick from an Apple/Mac computer. I have done this numerous times without any problems. All the games worked (tested and played by me)on Vista PC.
When I sold it to him I turned it on and showed him some of the menu icons and then ran a game to show him it worked.
His problem is now the PSP will not come on just the redlight lights up. I am working this issue via email in an attempt to help him.

What I have suggested and didn't work.

Remove memory card reboot
Remove battery reboot
turn off PSP then hold the right clear button and turn on (to get the boot screen)
He has a UDM and it spins but not else just spinning and the power light.

Could he have screwed the files up enough to brick it?
