Hi to everybody, I'm new here.

I just bought a 2nd hand PSP fat with 3.80 M33-5 firmware.

Everything is working but WIFI doesn't.

The WIFI switch works because PSP say to me if it's ON or OFF but when searching for another PSP (game sharing) the WIFI led doesn't blink at all. The PSP on the screen shows that it's looking for other psp but no light comes up and the psp doesn't see other.

The shop who sold me the psp from ebay says that is a well known problem on the fat psp and to look in the sony psp web faq to solve the thing. Well I don't find anything about. I have another PSP fat with 3.71 M33-2 firmware and this is working, the wifi blinks when searching for others psp.

So my question is: is it really a well know missed configuration or firmware issue or MAC address to fix... or simply they sold me a broken psp?

any suggestion ?

p.s. I can buy a new wifi board but it seems really hard to change it. the psp must be totally disassembled and I can't understand how the board is connected (soldered? flat connection?)

thanks in advance for your kind replay.

:(

thanks for your fast reply. Do you think It's possible to change the wifi board to have it working again?

If so I would like to send it to a sony authorized centre but I'm afraid they will restore the official firmware too. I bought it with the custom firmware and I don't want to enter in the hell of how to install custom firmware...

yes, i think it is possible but this will cost you money , a lot of money ..

And i Don't think they will install official firmware since there is no internal problem . But i don't know how they do it, just gooogle it .

Good luck !
