I posted a while back about an issue I was having with my PSP 1001. Basically, here is the issue:

My batter is charged and running at 60-90% WHile playing a game, watching a UMD or video on my memstick or listening to music, it will randomly start to flash the low battery warning on screen and then shut off. I turn it on and it shows that I have plenty of juice left. I go back to what I was doing and a few minutes later it does it again.
It was recommended that I buy a new battery. I finally was able to find a NEW SONY brand battery. I charged the psp for about 2 hours and it was sitting at 100% charge. I played a game for about 40 minutes and then decided to play a different one. Swapped games and less than 2 minutes into the game the low battery appeared again and it turned off again. I turned it on again and checked the power level. It was 87%.

DO any of you have any ideas for this?
I am running CF 5.00 M33-4. No custom XMB stuff. 2GB Memstick if that matters.

I have experienced this using UMDs and stuff on memsticks (Very frustrated when it pooped out while playing SCUMMvm. It had been a while since I last saved)

I'm looking for a solution. This is supposed to be a portable system. Kind of defeats the purpose if I have to keep it plugged in all the time.

Not sure if this will help, but it may be a temporary fix at least.

You can spoof the battery to allow look like it's at 100% (given you have CFW or CFWe and ChickHen).
