PSP Firmware Newbie Help needed...

I've been everywhere on the internet and found this place and it may solve my problem.

I had modded firmware on a PSP I brought and my friend knocked it back down to 1.50 because I couldnt play new games with modded stuff on. Anyway I tried playing Gran Turismo original UMD and it wouldnt play, so i figured out I have to add the offcial firmware on it. I put 2.81, then 3.00 and got as far as 3.11, now when I put 3.30 on which is the next firmware it says the below still....

The system config of this PSP system does not appear to be correct. The update cannot be completed. Contact tech support for assistance.

Now 3.30 is the next firmware up from 3.11 and now I can't go any further and am stumped. Can somebody help please.

on custom firmware if your playing off the stick, 5.00m33-6 and 5.50 GEN-B2 will let you play it, im not sure about the umd though it should be ok if you not bothered about custom firmware upgrade to the latest official firmware 6.00.

if you have a wireless router set psp up and scroll over to left column and choose network update it will do it for you.

You can thank Sony for that-It was their way of circumventing people who have TA-082 motherboards from downgrading to 1.50 and then subsequently updating to a higher CFW (at that time 3.03OE-C was king)

Your only option is pandora (DCv3 or better) to get past the 3.11 wall.
